The Application Guide is a document that refers to certain practices to facilitate the starting process of implementing sustainability measures, according to the CST program, in lodging establishments, travel agencies, and tour operators.
In this regard, the Application Guide is not intended as a policy document. It is not the only way that exists to meet the CST criteria. It offers the employer the possibility to design its own strategy to achieve the task.
The Evaluation Guidelines are structured in the follwoing way:
- Why and What is expected?
The Evaluation Questionnaire is explained in terms of what objective and results are expected for each group of questions.
- Recommended Practices.
This section suggests some ideas to get qualify for the program, providing information on existing regulations in the energy field of water management, among others.
The Application Guide in some cases also has the minimum conditions to be covered by tourism businesses to qualify with a "Yes" on a particular question. For example, when requesting the submission of a "sustainability plan", it must have at least the structure that is proposed in the Guide.
